The BBG Owner's Manual, including its pages, tools, calculators, checklists, templates, AI prompts and downloadable PDFs, is provided for general educational and informational purposes. It offers general suggestions about running a business. It is not legal, tax, accounting, financial, investment, insurance, employment, human resources, medical or mental health advice.

No professional relationship

Reading this site, using its tools or contacting the founder does not create a professional or client relationship of any kind, including an attorney-client, accountant-client or advisor-client relationship. The founder is not acting as your attorney, accountant, tax preparer, financial advisor or business consultant.

Research findings cited on this site come from specific studies in specific settings. They are summarized in plain language and may not apply to your business in the same way. Where a number is a planning estimate rather than a research finding, the page says so. Please read the original sources, which are linked where available, before relying on a finding.

Tools, calculators and estimates

The on-screen tools and PDFs produce estimates based only on the numbers and answers you enter. They use simplified assumptions and are meant to support your thinking, not replace professional analysis. Results such as runway, payback time, cash needs, savings, hours and scores are rough planning figures, not guarantees or forecasts.

AI prompts

Some tools create prompts you can copy into an AI tool of your choice. This site does not provide, operate or control any AI service. When you use an AI tool, that provider's terms and privacy policy apply. AI tools can produce answers that sound confident but are wrong, so check anything important before acting on it, and don't paste confidential, personal or client information into a tool unless you're sure how it handles that data.

Books, authors and trademarks

This site summarizes ideas from published books and research in its own words and credits the authors. These summaries are not substitutes for the original works, and they reflect our interpretation, which may differ from the authors' own. Book titles, author names, company names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Their mention does not mean they endorse, sponsor or are affiliated with this site.

Examples

Businesses, people and numbers in examples, including "Dana's firm," are fictional and for illustration only. Any resemblance to a real business or person is coincidental.
